Happy Birthday, Terence!

A very happy 206th birthday to Terence Silvermane Lactantius! Well, he's actually 16 years old, since his story was first conceived in 2005(ish), but he's 190 at the story's beginning, so we just tack on an extra year. And since unicorns age a lot slower, ten years for them equal one year for us humans, so he's really a four-legged 19-year-old.

Simple enough arithmetic?

Three's a charm, and this is a story that takes place well after The First King and The Unicorn's Crown . I don't have a precise timeline but this happens at least one thousand years after Terence's time. I call this series The Crossing of Horns . Terence and Rhiella have many descendants, and fun fact that's also ginormous spoiler: Terence is a direct descendant of Silvan while Rhiella is a direct descendant of Varian. So, we've got quite a family tree here.  The Crossing of Horns focuses on Romulus and Tallis Lactantius, Terence's I-never-bothered-to-count-how-many-times-great-grandsons. Let's keep it nice and simple and just say they have Terence's blood. Meet the Characters - Ann

I realize I've yet to make a post about a female character. While I will admit most of my characters (for pretty much all my stories) are male, you can still count some interesting, cute, and downright fun ladies among the cast. For that matter, I don't care so much about the characters' gender or ethnicity as I do about their likability and what they add to the story.  As I said in a previous post, the best characters are the ones that make you feel all sorts of things, both good and bad. They do some things that strike a bad nerve, but you don't wish them any serious harm in the long run.  Some of my characters came about in the first place because I tried to envision a slightly more palatable version of an already existing character. Meet the Characters - Terence

Since this blog revolves around my story, it only makes sense I'd post a few things about the characters, right?  And, as it is with every story, the best character to start with is the protagonist.  I intend to start with a series called The Unicorn's Crown . This is where it all began; this is the story I thought up way back in 2005. Needless to say, it went through countless changes, but the improvement in quality has been incredible. At long last, it's becoming my own story and not just another carbon copy of Harry Potter or The Hobbit or The Last Unicorn .  For the record, The Last Unicorn by Peter S.
